Aquaculture is defined as underwater agriculture or the cultivation of aquatic plants, fish, molluscs and shellfish in a controlled or natural environment as well as the collective name for breeding salt and freshwater fish, shellfish and other living organisms in water like algae and samphire. Worldwide, approximately only one-third of all fish farming takes place in natural habitats. It means most fish are bred under controlled circumstances. There has been an upward trend in this sector because the costs of fishing in open water are increasing.
More and more farmers are now choosing to use plastic tanks to meet the increasing demand to rear fish in a sustainable and cost-effective manner. We provide a range of plastic to suit your specific needs and budget.
Enduramaxx’s plastic aquaculture tank range includes the following
Here we run over more on applications for these ranges
Our open-top water tanks are made from WRAS (Water Regulations Advisory Scheme) approved polymer and food-grade material for use in contact with foodstuffs. These tanks are traditionally used for Koi tanks, Fish Tanks, Fishponds and Fish holding/quarantine Tanks; however, these have many other applications including.
We work with a number of aquaculture consultants who are also able to provide bespoke pipework and connections to enable a minimum installation time for heating/filtration and connection to other tanks. Shellfish farming is a significant and growing aquaculture in many parts of the world. This low-impact, sustainable industry producing a range of different products for the UK market and abroad. A majority of shellfish production is mainly centred on mussels but also includes oysters and scallops. In shellfish farming, a critical requirement is a need for pristine clean water in which to grow wholesome shellfish.
Cylindrical or Conical Tanks for Larval Production & Hatchery work particularly well to oyster larvae farming in shellfish hatcheries as they allow a distribution larva in the tank. offer good cleaning and drain facilities and the ability to sieve larvae.
Cylindrical or Conical Tanks for oyster larvae rearing tank work particularly well to oyster larvae farming in shellfish hatcheries as they allow a distribution larva in the tank. offer good cleaning and drain facilities and the ability to sieve larvae. Generally, water is changed and at each water change, larvae are examined and may be graded to size. The tanks are cleaned and refilled with cultured algae being added.

Plastic Scallop Hatchery Tanks on Stands, Enduramaxx’s bespoke design and customised build service for UK’s aquaculture industry include round and square tanks, open top and closed. The special features of Enduramaxx’s aquaculture tanks include thermal & biosecurity properties, hygienic and easy to clean, chemical resistance, shockproof and UV stabilised. These plastic aquaculture tanks are available up to 30000 litres. Small-scale scallop hatcheries generally use recirculating aquaculture systems with broodstock conditioning tanks, rearing vessels, and settlement tanks as part of the scallop hatchery process.

Broodstock Conditioning Tanks, most commercially important species of marine fish are migratory, and one of the main primary environmental cues that control their reproductive cycles is temperature. To be successfully conditioned to spawn in captivity, most marine fish species must be exposed to temperature and light cycles that mimic their seasonal changes in nature which can be accomplished through maturation systems.
Designed specifically for indoor applications the tank is ideal for with metal stands are optional extras. Bespoke aquaculture fish rearing tanks and broodstock conditioning tanks can be customised for UK’s aquaculture industry include round and square tanks, open top and closed top.

Larval Settlement Tanks are used to induce larval settlement as oysters undergo a metamorphosis at the end of the larval period when they change from swimming larvae to attached to a form of substrate. Once attached, they are referred to as spat and they lose their ability to swim or to move away from conditions unsuitable for their growth and survival.
These Larval Settlement Tanks are available with options including liquid level sensor assemblies and fill pipes. Other fittings and modifications include inlets, outlets, PN16 and ANSI flanges, welded sockets.

our plastic aquaculture tank range includes WRAS Potable Drinking Water Tanks or vertical water storage tanks, come in a choice of 51 sizes ranging from 150 litres to 90,000 litres. These plastic water tanks are constructed from food-grade polyethene ensuring durability and are finished with a smooth interior to protect against bacteria growth and allow easy cleaning. Our potable water storage tanks are rotationally moulded for many years of use.
In some instances, these plastic water tanks will have to be Fluid Category 5 to comply with the requirements of installation and use of cold water storage cisterns and sectional tanks connected to the public water supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999. Enduramaxx’s range of Insulated Water Tanks is designed for use where temperature regulation is key and the prevention of overheating or freezing of liquids paramount. The main challenge of water management is keeping water consumption low, but without falling below an adequate level of water quality. The water quality must be good enough to make sure that your stock is healthy, and your fish grow continuously. Water, as an important resource, needs to be handled with care. Excessive use of water will lead to high operating costs. Whilst ponds tend to lose water through seepage, recirculation systems require good filtration and aeration techniques as well as well-thought-out flow regimes. In general, the amount of water needed depends on the fish species and on the stock density.
Clarifier / Clarification Tanks are used as continuous flow removal of suspended solids or solid particles from dirty water. These plastic conical clarification tanks are available in a range of sizes. Primary (mechanical) treatment/Clarification is designed to remove gross, suspended and floating solids from raw sewage. It includes screening or a weir to trap solid objects and sedimentation by gravity to remove suspended solids. This level is sometimes referred to as “mechanical treatment“, although chemicals see Enduramaxx chemical dosing tanks are often used to accelerate the sedimentation process.
