Grant scheme to fund rainwater harvesting tanks – The Farming and Forestry Improvement Scheme is a grant scheme currently offering £10m geared towards helping farming, forestry and horticultural businesses looking to improve their competitiveness.
This round of the scheme is now open for applications grants between £2,500 and £35,000 will be awarded to small and medium-sized businesses.

The scheme operates within the Rural Development Programme for England and is funded jointly by the EU and the UK government and offers maximum funding of 50 per cent of eligible costs, although this only applies within severely disadvantaged areas.

The grant covers typical capital items which might include; heat recovery systems, electricity efficiency devices for livestock housing and milk parlours; soil mapping software and GPS equipment for precision farming; shallow injection systems for slurry tankers and roofing existing manure or silage stores; EID readers, mobile sheep and cattle handling systems; badger proof in-field feed troughs, and with relation to Enduramaxx, rainwater harvesting equipment.
