New call-to-action

Fruit & Vegetable Processing Wastewater Treatment a common denominator for most fruit and vegetable processing operations is the need for tremendous amounts of water to wash product and maintain sanitary conditions required for food processing. Processing operations such as food peeling, stemming, pitting, snipping, blanching, coring, and cutting all require a lot of water.  Transporting product via water flumes after these applications further contribute to the wastewater stream, and residual product can enter wastewater at nearly every step of fruit and vegetable processing operations.

Wash water from fruit and vegetable processing equipment and CIP all generate wastewater that is expensive to treat or discharge. With ever-increasing costs involved in its disposal, sludge treatment is becoming one of the greatest costs in running an effective wastewater treatment plant   This sludge requires treatment & dewatering into a dry and porous form through flotation tanks, ph. control and finally being through a filter press.

Supplied water, onsite treatment, waste disposal, and sewer costs rapidly impact any food processor’s bottom line. Enduramaxx work with several water treatment consultants which can advise on separation technologies to increase water re-use options, increase on-site treatment efficiency, reduce handling and disposal costs, and lower sewer fees for fruit and vegetable processors.

Sewer surcharges can be the bane of fruit and vegetable processing operations. Surcharges arise from both solids and Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) in effluent water.  Washdown of plant equipment and clean-in-place (CIP) can dislodge processed product that is washed away with your cleaning water. Often these solids can be quite large and Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) is not very efficient at treating larger solids. Conventional screening is required for these larger articles prior to entering a DAF system.
